Fuse Block and Rick's Shelf Installation
(you can click on most pictures to get a larger image)
Fuse kit is available on eBay and contains 3 circuits that are all switched. The fuse size is adjustable for the application. Fuse kit is weatherproof. Directions indicate installation should be on the opposite side of the underseat compartment. My remote pre-load adjuster was in the way. As it turns out, the other side of the compartment was a great location.
Relay, main fuse for fuse block and wiring going to the front of the bike. Keyed power plug located under the rear of the fuel tank. Plugs are provided as part of the fuse block kit.

Picture shows the closed fuse block.

All connections were soldered and wires were covered with this sheath-available at Radio Shack.

Wires were routed along wiring harness on the right side of the engine exiting with the wires shown here.

Rick's Shelf before mounting. On the left is a standard Powerlet socket with lead (PSO-007). On the right is a standard Powerlet cigarette socket (ASO-002). When mounted, the standard socket will be on the right side of the shelf. There is very little room for a large socket on the right side of the shelf due to the throttle cable mounting bracket under the shelf on that side. I added a couple of quick disconnect plugs to make installation and removal easier.

View of the underside of the shelf showing the fit of the standard plug and silicon bead to seal and rubber cover and keep the mounting nut from loosening.

Quick disconnect plugs-one for each socket. A third circuit runs into the front fairing for the XM Radio.

Finished installation.
